Digital museum
Kytherians have been travelling for millennia. Homer already places men from Kythera among those who sailed to Troy, and in more recent times their journeys have reached Chile, the United States, Argentina, South Africa, every part of Europe and, of course, Australia.
The Migration Museum gathers departures from Kythera, sea passages, arrivals abroad and the making of new homes into one live collection. Rather than storing entries in a fixed category, it searches across the archive for journeys described through migration language, ports, sailings, passages and settlement stories. The result is a museum assembled dynamically from family memory, oral history, articles, photographs and personal accounts.
