Paspalas Family

submitted by Elias Vlanton on 27.11.2016

My grandmother was Stamatina Paspalas from Logothetianika and I am connected to a small group of Paspalases in the United States. I know that some of the Paspalas clan moved to Australia, but I have no contact nor know anything about them. I know my great grandfather's name was Anastasios. If anyone might be related and would like to be in touch, please reply.

If you can go back a few generations, you might find the website of Telemachos Combis helpful.(www.tilemachos.com) He has a family tree for Paspalas, from Logothetianika starting in the late 1600s to the early 1800's. http://tilemachos.com/tree_logo/Pasp_allother.htm. We were able to find my Great Grandfather on his Chlentzos family tree, and have extended our tree from there. My great great grandfather was married to Athina C. Paspalas. They had 6 girls, then she passed away! Three months later he married Kerana Pan Zaglanikis and had 4 boys, one being Haralambos Chlentzos, my Great Great Grandfather. One of Athina's daughters was Stamatiki born in 1838. Who knows, maybe your grandmother was named after her! Good luck on your search.

My uncle Angelo from St. Louis used to tell us that the family came from Kythira but the name of the village escapes me. The family came the the United States in the late 19th or early 20th century and found their way to East St. Louis Illinois, then St. Louis Missouri. My grandfather, Philip had five son's (Gus (Constantine?), Jim, Ted, George and Angelo) and one daughter, Calliope. If anyone know's anything about this please let me know,
