Stratis "Tzambiras" Theodorakakis. The Pied Piper of Potamos

In the winter of 1980 a child of the Kytherian diaspora made her first pilgrimage to the island of her parents' birth with her two mid-teen sons in tow. A first cousin whom she had never met, a shopkeeper in Potamos, was one of the few relatives left on the island. In this shopkeeper they found a character of literary proportions, a man whose personality might have been lifted from the pages of a Kazantzakis or Durrell novel.

Jim Cominos

All who knew Jim "Tsigli" Cominos know he had a great zest for life.

He was born in Potamos Kythera in May 1923. When war came to Kythera he joined the partizans fighting against the enemies and even took part in capturing two German soldiers on Kythera.



In the late 1940s migrated to Sydney. He married Rothanthi ( Rosie) Maneas in the mid 1950's and had two daughters Poppy and Helen.

State Bar Mourns the Loss of Former Justice Theodore Souris
State Bar leaders have expressed deep sadness on the death of Theodore Souris, a former justice of the Michigan Supreme Court, who succumbed to leukemia on June 21st, 2002 in Chicago. He was 76 years old.
