RECOGNITION FOR HIGH ACHIEVERS

This article was written in the "TORCH" newspaper on the 19th September 2007.
It is pleasing to see that two girls of Greek origin received awards by Mr. Della Bosca on behalf of the NSW Government.
I am very proud, that Seva Omeros, is our grand-daughter and congratulate her for her hard work and achievements.

This photo was taken july 06. This cat is a stray and he and his family slowly grew more comfortable around us. I couldnt refuse this shot. It was taken from our property just out of Chora.

Milton's father, Michael Mazarick, left Hora, Kytheria to make a life in America. Milton grew up in Vandergrift, Pa and later made his way to Fayetteville, North Carolina. There he owned an appliance and music store. He was well-known in his community for supporting and promoting tennis and for his love of the game. Australian Ambassador to Greece in Kythera 1989

The Australian Ambassador in Greece visited Kythera on the 27th of July 1989. Mr.Kevin Ian Gates and his wife, were welcomed by the then Eparhos at the airport then the Kytherian Australians on the Island held a dinner with the Ambassador and his wife at Toxotis in Livadi. In the photo above Mr.Kevin Ian Gates with Spyro and Sadie Calocerinos while visiting the Kastro in Hora.

Calocerinos(kalokairinos) Maria Valeriou

 Issued in Kythera on the 18th of October 1945. She was killed in a horrific car accident in Hora in 1962. Maria Kalokairinou,was born in Kythera.Her parents Christos and Kaliopi Nikolopoulou, were from Gytheon.

Calocerinos(kalokairinos) Valerios Yianni

 My father Valerios was born in Alexandrades 1893, died 1969. He was a shopkeeper in Hora. The shop is still owned by a Valerios Calocerinos(Kalolairinos)-my nephew- well known for his photography
