Author: Casimaty Family When Published:1996(?) Publisher: Casimaty Family Available:(?) Description: 200 page book, detailing the family history of the Casimaty family in Tasmania. The perfect template for all Kytherian families to follow, when researching and collating family history. ***Highly recommended*** It features the descendants of George and Stamatina Casimaty, of Kastrissianika, Kythera. The book arose out a family reunion which followed a Church Service at St George's Orthodox Church, 5 Antil Street, South Hobart, Tasmania, on Sunday 7th April, 1996. The Casimaty "clan" gathered for a Luncheon at Hellenic House, 67 Federal Street, North Hobart. The book ends, "Research for the family reunion led to this publication which enables these documents and family records to be shared. While not a formal history, it is an attempt to create a "living" profile of George and Stamatina for their descendants. Hard work by some, and co-operation by many have made this possible. Individual stories were written by each family. Photos and papers from personal and family collections have been loaned willingly. Of George and Stamatina's descendants over half were born in Tasmania and most of those still live here. Those who live elsewhere still retain strong ties to Tasmania. The early Casimatys' introduced elements of Greek culture and cuisine which when blended with local society produced a particular species of the Hellenic and Tasmanian: Hellenotasmanikus."
