very special day for all kytherians .. 12th may we celebrate our patron saint of kythera .. agios theodoros ...every year on the 12th may kytherians cemmorate the death of agios theodoros, the patron saint of the island .. the monastery of agios theodoros is just south of potamos and a wonderful panayri is held at the monastery to cemmorate the patron saint of kythera .. so xpona polla to all kytherians and to all kytherian theodores ...

panayia despina north of the island near karava .. she also celebrates on the 15th august , with her commanding views of agia pelagia , mainland greece and the mountains of agia moni ..

group photo after the annual service on the 24th august at the oldest settlement in kythera .. paliochora the service start at about 8am .. you can walk there like they did in past years from the village of trifyllianika in those days there would be over 100 donkeys parked outside the church

the epiethafou easter service at potamos for the megali paraskevi..friday night service ...
part of the easter celebrations on the island is the carrying and walking of the panayia from myrtitia church to every village on the island .. headed by our bishop and the local priest's the village people accompany the panayia on the march ...here we are in the village of trifyllianika at agios jannis the local church.. xpona polla ....
