A.H.E.P.A. was first established in Scone, NSW., in 1935. The majority of the Australian Greeks who established AHEPA were Kytherians. It was modelled on the American H.E.P.A. which had been set up in 1922. The organisation offered a structured means for keeping Greeks in contact with Greeks throughout the country.
