Gilgandra Cut Price to continue trading.
Gilgandra Weekly, 19th January, 1983.
Following a period of uncertainty over the future of the store Gilgandra Cut Price is to continue trading.
Principals of the store David and Stella Aird and Mrs Chris Kelly told the “Weekly” this week that cut price has been in receivership for the past 2½ years, but finance was obtained just prior to Christmas, and the family feels that, with hard work and the support of the residents of Gilgandra and and District, they will be able to provide a service to the community.
"We will still offer weekly specials, free home delivery service and a phone order service to our customers and we feel we have a lot to offer the residents of Gilgandra".
"The family has been involved with Gilgandra since the 1930’s and we have hopes of a continuation of this good reputation for years to come".
"We have faith in this district and its future and in spite of the present circumstances we feel there are better times ahead for everyone and we are going to do our best to be part of the future of the area".
"The closure of any business house in a small community is a retrograde step so we hope our action will be seen as a confirmation of our faith in the district," Mrs Aird said.
