Harry P. Notaras 1897-1959

Feb. 26, 1959 Appleton Post-Cresent Newspaper (USA)

Harry P. Notaras, 62, 121 E. Roosevelt Street, a restaurant and tavern owner in Appleton, Wisconson for many years, died unexpectedly at 4:30pm Wednesday at his home.

He was born Oct. 18, 1897, in Kythera, Greece and lived in Appleton since 1921.

Notaras operated Coney Island Lunch for many years, then opened a larger lunch room after which he owned and operated the Liberty Tavern for two years. He retired in 1949.

He was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church in Fond du Lac, Wisconson (USA), a member of the Order of AHEPA Chapter No. 49 of Fond du Lac, and served in the Greek Navy for 18 months.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm Saturday at All Saints Episcopal Church, with burial in Riverside Cemetary. The Rev. Konstantinos Capoyiannes of the Greek Orthodox Church of Ford du Lac will officiate.

Friends may call at Wichmaann Funeral home from 10 am Friday until 11 am Saturday and then at the church.

Survivors include his wife; his mother, Mrs. Elene Notaras, Kythera, Greece; three brothers, Tony, Theo, and James, all of Rock Hampton, Australia; and two sisters, Mrs. Emmanuel Fardouly and Mrs. Nick Notaras, both of Rock Hampton, Australia.
