Buzzard Buteo buteo The large and powerful buzzard is a common sight on Kythera, wheeling overhead or sitting on posts and dead trees, searching for small mammals. From below, the buzzard can be recognized by its wide-spread tail striped with narrow bars and bordered by a broad, dark band at the end. Buzzard skull, 7.5 cm. Found in Kypriotianika, 1992.
