The happy feet of film director George Miller strode into the Melbourne office of Federal Treasurer Peter Costello today, and Miller brought a friend along – a little fellow called Oscar.
Miller visited Mr Costello to thank him for the Government's support of the Australian film industry, which allowed him to produce his hit movie about dancing penguins, Happy Feet.
Happy Feet won the best animated feature film Oscar at this year's Academy Awards, and Miller brought the golden statuette along to his meeting today to show it off.
Miller, Mr Costello and Graham Burke, managing director of entertainment company Village Roadshow, which distributed Happy Feet, discussed the future of the Australian film industry.
"They discussed the Government's funding of the film industry and of course part of that funding went to Happy Feet," a spokesman for Mr Costello said.
"They discussed the future of the Australian film industry and George thanked Mr Costello for the Government's support of the industry."
