Obituary Mrs Mary Zantiotis
The death of Mrs. Mary Zantiotis, of Mittagong, was briefly reported in the last issue of the Mail. She was a Miss Mary Bartholomew* prior to her marriage 39 years ago to Mr. J. Zantiotis, and was at born Newcastle.
Her husband conducted café businesses at Moree and Newcastle and later in Sydney. Mrs Zantiotis actively assisted in these ventures and her cheerful disposition made her a host of friends.
Over thirty years ago, Mr Zantiotis established a café business in Mittagong and the couple worked in it until his retirement about 11 years ago. This café **was on the present site of the Commonwealth Bank in Mittagong and was later conducted by Mr. Bob Lee.
Mrs. Zantiotis, who was in her 57th year, is survived by her husband, four sons, Steve, Mena, Jimmy and Tony, and three daughters , Eugenie, Poppy and Marina. All are resident in this district.
A funeral service, according to the rites of the Greek Orthodox Church, was conducted at St. Stephens Church Mittagong, by the Rev. George Kateras, prior to the funeral leaving for the Welby Cemetery.
