Bamboo ceilings in the Tzortzopoulos patriko spiti, "Hlihlis", at the base of the steps leading up to the marmoro in Karavas. The construction of rooves in Kythera was unique. Over the wooden bearer's were placed bamboo strips. Over these bamboo strips mortar was poured. Tiles were then set into this mortar.
