The Flag Exchange Ceremony.
The Governor of Queensland, Ms Quentin Bryce, AC, [the font of power invested in the Flag of Queensland, under the Royal Decree], smiles approvingly as Mr Peter Samios (left), President of the Kytherian Association of Queensland Inc, exchanges a Queensland Flag with the President of the Kytherian Association of Australia, Dr Victor Kepreotis. Mr Victor Kepreotis, reciprocates by exchanging a flag of the state of New South Wales. (Right). Master of Ceremonies, George C Poulos, relates the symbolism of the ceremony (far right).
The flag ceremony was very important because it gave symbolic effect to something which is central to the vision of kytheraismos - an enosis (union - fusion) between the two Kytherian Associations in NSW & Queensland.
Ultimately, every Kytherian Association around the world should undertake a symbolic interchange with every other Kytherian Association.
This Flag exchange ceremony took place at the greatest of Kytherian-Brisbane events, which was held on Sunday the 15th April, 2007, from 11:30 - 5:00pm.
The venue was the Cyprus Club, also known as the
West End Club,
2 Vulture Street,
West End 4101

The event was held for 3 reasons:
1. to mark the official Queensland launch of www.kythera-family.net
2. to mark the official Queensland launch of Katsehamos and the Great Idea
3. to forge a new and inviolable union between the Kytherian Association of Queensland Inc, and the Kytherian Association of Australia, (ostensibly the Kytherian Association of NSW).
The occasion became known as the Brisbane panayiri and mega-event.
Ultimately, demand for seats was so high, that the event had to be moved from Kapsali Restaurant to the Cyprus Club.
Attendance was c. 500
