Two dinners were held in California during George Poulos's 2007 August tour.

One was held in Oakland, in Northern California. Oakland is part of the San Francisco Bay area.

The other was held in Alhambra, a suburb of Los Angeles.

The venue was Wahib's Middle East Restaurant.

Observations about Kytherian connectedness in USA and Australia.

Fewer Kytherians emigrated to America, than to Australia. This was as a result of quota system in the USA in affect until the mid-1900s.

The Greek Orthodox Church is also much more unified and powerful in the USA, than in Australia. The church tends to dilute the influence of regional Greek groups in America, far more than occurs in Australia.

The "tyranny of distance" is the main reason why Kytherians do not gather together more often in the USA. Within California, for example,it is a 5 hour drive from Los Angeles to San Francisco.
