Kosta Kentrotis.

KAPSALI Greek Taverna (Brisbane) general manager and head chef Kosta Kentrotis believes the travel bug is partly responsible for Aussies embracing multicultural foods.

Kosta says with the number of Australians travelling overseas on the rise, more locals are given exposure to international cuisine.

Kosta says Melbourne and Sydney may offer more multicultural options but Brisbane is quickly catching up to those standards.
He says his restaurant become more well-known after the Athens Olympics in 2004 when more people were introduced to Greek food.

The Kapsali menu, which has traditional staples such as hand-made domaldes, mezethes platters and moussaka, as well as Aussie favourites like steaks and crumbed seafood platters, attracts a mix of races.
Kosta says there is no obvious preference for certain dishes, with customers ordering authentic Greek food as much as they order other meals.
