May Fishel Mazarick (1893-1983) married Michael E. Mazarick in Pennsylvania on June 14, 1926. She was thirty-three years old as a bride, which was quite old for that generation. May was an attractive young woman, who had little time to consider "suitors" as her family was counting on her for support. Her father died in a hunting accident when she was a child. Her sister, Emma, was plagued with mental problems and so, May was the backbone of the family. She worked to earn money for her family. She was appointed as Postmaster in Apollo, Pa when she met Michael Mazarick, a Greek immigrant. He married her and took responsibility of her mother and sister, Emma, until their death.
