Myrto's appreciation of Japanese culture, and her endeavours to explain Japanese culture to Greeks in Greece, and teach Japanese arts such as origami, has inevitably led her to make contact with persons associated with Lafcadio Hearn, such as Takis Efstahiou and Lafcadio's grandson, Bon Koizumi.
