For those of us who can stay at a patriko spitti when we venture to Kythera, one of the most onerous tasks we have to perform is scrubbing, cleaning and airing the house. This is the view across the bodjio in the Tzortzopoulos Hlihlis patriko spitti in Karavas. It is located at the bottom of the steps leading up to the Church of Ayios Haralambos. Mavrogiorianika is in the background. In fact the background scene is reminiscient of the front and back cover of Tess Mallos's, Greek Cookbook. See http://www.kythera-family.net/index.php?nav=104-116&did=6098-1&searchResult=searchResult It takes about 6 days to make the Hlihlis patriko livable. What are your experiences when you first enter your patriko spitti on Kythera?
