The stone bridge in Katouni was built under British rule and the Engineer John McFale. It was completed in 1829. It is 110m long and is supported by 13 arches.

This bridge is my passion! The British resident and overseeing engineer was actually John McPhail, a Scot, who was also instrumental in building many of the other stone bridges on the island as well as some of the roads and schools. The Katouni bridge is simply magnificent.
