Dimitri Aroney (Theodoropoulos) was born on Kythera, Greece in 1890 and died in N.S.W, Australia in 1991, aged 100 years. This portrait of him was taken when he undertook his military service in the Greek army during the Asia Minor War. He was around 25 years of age at the time this portrait was taken. Dimitri served in the Greek army between 1915 and 1921. After completing his military service he migrated to Australia, where he initially settled in Bundarra, N.S.W.
