Theodore Haralambos Catsoulis

My grandfather, Theodore, was born in Potamos in 1878. He was a farmer, a guard at the Palace in Athens, and later, in Australia, a cafe owner, then again a farmer. Most of all, he was a wonderful husband and father, and to me, the most perfect grandfather. He died in 1953, leaving a huge gap in our family. I loved his gentleness, kindness, patience and his unlimited love for his family. He came to Australia on the Grosser Kurfurst, around 1904/5. He married my grandmother, Chrisanthe Coronoes on 29th December, 1903/4. Her mother was Stavroula Megaloconomos, who died at age 104... Nona died in 1965, was born in 1881, also in Potamos.

My father, Panagiotis Katsoulis from Potamo, had a brother named Theodoro. Their father's name was Konstantino. Theodoro died during World War II. I wonder if there's any relation.

Hello Maria, I know little of my grandfather's family... his father was Haralambos, his mother Maria? His siblings were Eleni, George, Panagiotitsa and Stavroula... but I have no dates for any of them. Haralambos had a brother, Kosmas, who was a policeman in Potamos. He was married to Marigo Panaretos and they had at least one son, Mikhail (Michael) Kosmas Catsoulis. He married Stella Comino. Any help? Chris

Hi Chris, My father had a brother named Kosma who died at a very young age. My dad's patriko (family home) was across from the kafenio in Potamo. His father, Konstantinos, went by the nickname Kostara because he was very tall. My grandmother was Marigo Tsitsilia, the sister of Panagioti Tsitsilia who was a representataive in Parliament. Anyway, one of my dad's cousins was Doctor Panagiotis Katsoulis. Does this sound familiar? Let me know. Maria

Sorry, Maria, I haven't logged in in some time...I know so little about my grandfather's family, though I now know that his mother was Maria (Mary) Fardouly. As for his cousins etc., I know nothing, though of course, I would like to. I also know that he and my grandmother were married in April, 1904, not December as I had been told originally, and my grandfather arrived in Australia in 1904.
