Life story:Nicholas Stathis was born in Hora, the Capital of the island Kythira in Greece in 1897. He fought in the First World War in the telecommunications section and was awarded the 3rd Division War Cross for outstanding service in the Campaign for Philadelphia in Turkey. Nicholas emigrated to Australia on the Hobsons Bay in 1923. He settled in Queanbeyan NSW and opened a shop, making his own sweets and food for the shop. His mother name Elley or Elly Andronicus whom married to John Stathis.
