HAPS Event with Prof. Irene Kacandes @ Stanford, Friday May 1st

On Friday, May 1st, 7:00 PM the Hellenic American Professional Society is co-sponsoring an event at Stanford University with Irene Kacandes, Professor of German and Comparative Literature at Dartmouth University, who will be presenting her new book, Daddy's War: Greek American Stories. A Paramemoir.

Co-sponsors are the Greek Language Culture and Literature Program at Stanford and the Greek American Professional Women’s Society.

Irene Kacandes chairs the Department of German Studies at Dartmouth. She studied at the Free University of Berlin and was a Fulbright Scholar at Aristotle University in Thessaloniki. She completed a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature at Harvard in 1991 and taught at the University of Texas before coming to Dartmouth in 1994. She has published studies on Modern Greek literature and specializes in narrative theory and 20th-century cultural studies.
