My grandmother's name was Gregoria Panaretos, her brother was Cosmos Panaretos. I was told some other relatives went to Australia. She was born around 1892 Karava, Kythera, Greece. He moved to Michigan. My Yaya moved with her husband John George Rampias to New Bedford, Mass. They had 4 sons. George (my Father), Stephen, Constantine, and Lambros. They are all deceased now. I am the only grandson of Gregoria and John. I am 57 and have two sons, Matthew and Ross Rampias. I am curious if anyone knows of related history and granparents names etc. My uncle and father said they met extended family (Panaretos) family relatives in Australia during WWII>

John ,see the message I sent a little earlier. I am your cousin through marriage and cousin, with your Cousin George Panaretos ,son of Cosmas. I live in the Detroit area. Your Uncle Cosmas didn't come to Detroit, but his son george did after his tour of duty in the Korean war. he worked for my Father, in his bar. he is doing well and semi-retired. Just had knee surgery. He and my Mother Helen Panaretos were cousins. In fact, when my Mother and all her siblings came here to the USA, they lived with your Uncle Cosmas and Jenny in New Bedford for several years. Then my Mother's family moved to Detroit, where my Mother married my Father.
Write me back and I can tell you much more. I am 59 years old so near your age. Jim Gavriles

John, my grandmother, Eugenia Aronis, baptized your uncle Constantine who was named after her husband. My grandmother's family that included my mother Rose lived in New Bedford, MA and knew your grandmother's family very well. We're practically neighbors! Mom and I live in Beverly Hills. My email is [email protected] if you want more information.

Hi John, my name is Ann Loonstra. I was baptized Angeliki Karakosta. My grandmother Angeliki and your grandmother Gregoria were sisters. My cousin Janice and I visited your uncles Gus and Lambros when I was living in Carlsbad about 1988 or so and they took us touring all over Hollywood and LA. We also visited Gus Panaretos, Cosmos' son, where he was living in Vegas at around the same time. Janice is the grandaughter of Cosmos (your grandmother's brother) and Jennie Panaretos (formerly Aronis). Angeliki had three sons, my father Strat and two older brothers Steve and Nick who are both deceased.

Hello Ann, I was wondering, what is the correct spelling of your last name?? Is it Kostas shortened from Karakosta or is it suppose to be Karakosta??I have down as Kosta .
I am the second Cousin Of George c Panaretos, son of Cosmas, living in the Detroit area. I live only about 3 miles from George and Doreen. They are really swell. George worked for my Dad for many years ,after he was discharged from the army and came back from Korean war.
