Kiriaki, I happened to look at the Orfanos entry and found around 200 different entries. Also I looked under the spelling with Orphanos. This also has around 50 entries. Looking at the columm that has the origins, I would say that the Orfanos spelling is the one you are after as there are several entries from Smyrna. I don't see any directly from Kythera.

look at www.ellisisland.org. When it opens ,type in the name. it will give you many entries and you have pick on the one that you think is the right one

The spelling ,upon entry may have been corrupted by the officials ,so don't give up right away if you don't find the exact one. Try other spellings . I had to look for quite a while to find my Father's entry as our name wasa spelled Gavrilis, but they mis-spelled it as Gabrilis. Then it got mis-spelled again somehow and it ended up being Gavriles?? And I have cousins, who got is mis-spelled to Gavrilys?
