A small settlement very close to Aroniadika, on the northwestern side toward Potamos. Established in the late 17th or early 18th century by families bearing the surname Vamvakaris or Babakaris. The earliest reference is in the Ottoman census of 1715 as Babakaradika. The settlement has no church, as it lies very near the Monastery of Saint Theodore, which served as the cathedral church for the area. The Vamvakaris surname is attested on Kythera as early as the 14th century, particularly in Drymonas. Today, the surname has vanished from Kythera, though it remains in the diaspora. Most homes have been transferred to third parties.
