The story of the Andronicus family is very nearly the history of coffee in Australia say the authors.

It’s a ‘coffee table book’ commissioned by the Andronicus coffee family. Those who can’t survive without their daily caffeine fix will probably learn more than they’ll ever every want to know about coffee, but for the history of this eminent Milopotamos family and the rise and rise of the Andronicus brand name go straight to chapter 8 (where you’ll also find a great old photo of the Samios Café at Coffs Harbour.)

It’s possibly out of print, but the inter-library loan system should be able to shake a copy out of the woodwork. If not, call in on George Andronicus, the son of Emmanuel Damianos, at his restaurant at Fernvale, south of Murwillumbah, and he’ll show you his copy. He’ll also do you the best cup of coffee you’ve ever tasted.
