The exhibition PANAYOTIS FATSEAS: KYTHERIAN FACES, 1920-1938 opened at the Benaki Museum, Piraeus Road, Athens on 21 February 2008. The exhibition, the result of six years’ hard work by the Kythera Photographic Archive, was curated by John Stathatos and organised by the Benaki Museum in conjunction with the Kythera Photographic Encounters, with the assistance of the Kytherian Foundation for Culture and Development (KIPA). The Photographic Archive and its activities are sponsored by Angelo & John Notaras, of Sydney, Australia. The exhibition runs till 23 March at the Benaki. The major part of the exhibition will subsequently be on show at the Kythiraikos Syndesmos, Chora, Kythera during the summer months, with the assistance of KIPA and the Municipality of Kythera; plans are afoot for a more extensive tour. The exhibition is accompanied by a lavishly illustrated monograph of the same title published by tetarto editions, Athens; the first published version of the monograph is in Greek only, and an English-language edition will follow later this year.
