PETROS KASIMATIS "HASAPIS"
THE POEM DEDICATED BY HIS WIFE READS SOMETHING LIKE THIS:
THE LAST GOODNIGHT
Your life terminated
in a November night.
It was the last goodnight.
GOD!!! it was such a bitter night.
When your hands were crossed
And your eyes were closed,
My heart was in pieces
and was as dead as yours.
My heart is like an anemone
In the wind the wild winter nights,
At your sodden resting place,
The soil and grass will be your silent company.
God has been with you and loved you,
but he took you away from me,
Your sweet and loving looks
In my heart will always be.
IN MEMORY OF MY LOVING HUSBAND
