The FLOGA Project
The Greek Heritage Society of Southern California
FLOGA (ΦΛΟΓΑ) Project
FLOGA (ΦΛΟΓΑ) in Greek means FLAME, and signifies PASSING THE TORCH from generation to generation.
Concurrent with the production of the documentary series, the Greek Heritage Society's FLOGA Project is documenting the story of early Greek immigrants and highlighting the continuity of subsequent generations.
In doing this, the society is collecting an extensive database of Southern California's rich Greek American history. So, the society's FLOGA Project is also working towards the establishment of an Archival Resource Center to house all the historical materials that have been compiled, including the materials in the Oral History Program. The archive will consist of a computerized catalogue of video footage, photographs, and written documents from members of the community.
The Greek Heritage Society of Southern California is producing an award winning documentary series, The Greeks of Southern California:
