First Tour

Their “First Anzacs” (1915) tour has as its focus the commemorative visit to Anzac cove and the Gallipoli peninsular for 25 April 2012, combining it with a unique stay at the strategically important island of Lemnos, where 3 Australian Hospital was based, providing an exclusive writing workshop for those interested. A visit to the Greek island of Rhodes forms part of this amazing vacation, that includes an exploration of the most significant archaeological sites along Turkey’s
eastern coast.

It is a 21 day tour departing from Australia on 11th April 2012.

Second Tour

The second time the Anzacs fought together was on mainland Greece in World War Two when Australian Officer Commanding - General Thomas Blamey formed the 1st Anzac Corp on 12 April 1941. The “2nd Anzacs” (1941) tour follows the footsteps of the 6th Australian division as they land in Athens and deploy to Northern Greece. This boutique tour takes you to locations not frequented by tourists, including famous Fort Rupel, part of the fortifications built by General Metaxas to protect Greece’s northern border with Bulgaria. It also stops at towns where Anzacs were deployed such as Volos, Veria and Vevi in the north, where a wreath laying will take place at the memorial at Xino Nero. It also passes through villages that helped soldiers trapped behind enemy lines, such as Ritini near the town of Katerini. After reaching the town of Florina near Albania it heads south following the allied retreat to the Peloponnese and the beaches where the troops were evacuated such as Kalamata, Monemvasia and Nafplion, incorporating visits to archaeological as well as Byzantine sites like Olympia, Epidauvros and Mystras.

Consisting of 18 days this tour departs on 29 April 2012 from Australia.

Third Tour

The “Battle of Crete” tour to commemorate the 71st anniversary of the campaign involves attendance at moving commemoration ceremonies on Crete at Rethymnon where the Australians fought, Suda Bay the landing spot for all the allied forces on Crete, Galatas where the New Zealand commemoration is held as well as Heraklion, Sfakia and Prevali Monastery.

It is an 18 day tour, commencing on 15 May 2012 from Australia, concluding with three days on the island of Santorini.
