MIGRATORIUM - GREEK FESTIVAL OF SYDNEY - THURSDAY MARCH 13
Friends,
I would like to remind you that MIGRATORIUM is taking place for the first time in Sydney at The Factory Theatre this Thursday 13th. We have a great show planned and we hope to see you at the show. Tickets are available via the link below.
Thank You
Valerios Calocerinos.
Leading an all-star cast from the fields of Music, Singing and Poetry, Van Louis (nominated for the MusicOz Australian Singer/Songwriter of the Year Award 2013), has once again put together and leads a show that is set to honour the universal language of all experiencing MIGRATORIUM. It is not just a show nor just a concert; it is an experience, it is the world we live in but find it so difficult to heartily engage with.
MIGRATORIUM is set to unite and honour reconciliation, either racial or cultural; It is the contemporary approach to migration merging multiple cultures to tell the story of alienation, change, adversity and integration.
The internationally acclaimed soprano Helen Zerefos OAM will be collaborating with Van Louis on stage, along with didgeridoo Aboriginal soloist Glen Doyle. Furthermore, internationally renowned poet and playwright Sophia Ralli-Catharios will recite her poetry inspired by the migration experience and exclusively expressed for MIGRATORIUM, while Robin Gist (nominated for two ARIA Awards, “Girl Overboard”) will be colouring our emotions with his expertise on the electric guitar.
Valerios Calocerinos (producer, musician and songwriter) will be anchoring and expressing those moments of extreme drama on the double bass. Paul Kapeleris will take us back in time on the bouzouki instrument and the baglama. Last, but certainly not least, drummer Curtis Martin will be making sure our hearts are simultaneously beating on the same tune.
Artistic Director and Lead Vocalist Van Louis says “Migratorium is a project that has been haunting me for years – yet, it took a magical path of unexpected coincidences and opportunities to stage it, life itself had to decide about the right time for this exploration”
