Paul Calopedis opened the Nowra Cafe in Junction Street on Friday 22nd August, 1930 in leased premises adjoining the Hotel Nowra (now Westpac Bank). The modern cafe was replete with every convenience, and furnished in modern style to ensure the comfort of patrons and was officially opened by Mr Thomas Marriott, solicitor of Nowra. Meals at all hours by a qualified chef were advertised and a 'marvel of hygienic perfection' was the Soda Fountain....."
