the bishop strides down towards a church service on the 24th august which is 9 days after the falling asleep of the mary .. this is a wonderful service held each year at palochora the bith place of modern kythera .. the church is called the lady of the tax [ e kerea tou fouro ] if you are on the island come to these wonderful church services held in churches that are many hundreds of years old , after all palochora is the where a lot of our ancestors lived some 600 years ago.. ...

agios jannis church at trifyllianika on the 29th august , celebrating john the baptist day with lots of people attending from surrounding villages and after the church service a lovely morning tea was served at the paltia of trifyllianika and outside of the church,,,

the parading of the icon of agios theodoros at agia paraskvi .. Taigum ..Brisbane .. Queensland ...to celbrate the patron saint of the island on the 12th may .. the morning service was followed by a morning tea for the attendees .. with plenty of chat about the up coming summer months in kythera ...

My father Stephen took this photo on 28 Nov 1945. Agia Triada was built between 1898 - 1931 and was the first dedicated Greek Orthodox Church to be built in Australia. at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Resurrection of our Lord, Our Lady of the Myrtles and Ayia Elesa. 16-20 Belgrave St, Kogarah, NSW 2217 The Bishop was in attendance, as was parish priest, the Very Reverend Sophronios Konidaris. Members of the Committee of the Kytherian Association of Australia, and a number of Kytherian members were also present.
