Icon 4 after restoration

This is one of several icons which was stored in the church of Agia Triatha in Mitata. While I was living there in the late 1980's I was visited by some professional art restorers from Germany, and they cleaned about a dozen icons. Some of the icons in this series are pre-cleaning, others post.

Church in Logothetianica

My Father in front of the church in Logothetianica I think . From his visit to Kythera in 1975. Might be Agyios Minas??
Intersting as this church looks like the one that Petros Cominos is asking about in one of the other photos.

Sotiros, Ntourianika

A destroyed church called Sotiros, at Ntourianika. I hope that everyone will soon realise how important it is to restore our treasures, castles, churches, and museums on the Island

St. George 2

The monastery of St. George, overlooking Avlemonas on the north-east coast of the island. There is something magical about this monastery - the earth hums up there, and you feel like you are sitting on the navel of the earth. Four thousand years ago hundreds of pilgrims would ascend the mountain before dawn from the shore at Skandia (Paliopoly) bearing gifts for their sun-goddess.
