Georgos was one of the most lovable people in Mitata. When I arrived on Kythera in 1985 he was still driving a taxi - an old Bulgarian car I think - and could be quite sly with his tarifs if one wasn't careful.
We had a lot of fun together, and he always looked after my friends and I very well. He was definitely one of the "stars" of the island.
Unfortunately he died a couple of years ago (in 2000 I think) leaving a wonderful wife and two hardworking sons.
