This person has passed away, but I knew her well. Hard worker indeed... She had a slight body deformity that made her stand somewhat askew-she never got married... It was Diamanta Koronis sister of Minas Koronis who has also passed away. She has two surviving nephews (Minas' sons) Stratos Koronis (school teacher) and Nikos Koronis (Carpenter) (Nikos used the old kafenion in Viaradika to run his bussiness) Diamanta used to come to our home sometimes on her way back from perivolia (fruit n vege gardens) especially in cold winter days when we had the woodeater going non-stop she was looking for a bit of company I think and to warm up after a day's work in the gardens or the olives or the fields etc She never came empty handed -always offering to us fasolakia (green beans) or other produce milk, eggs whatever was in season in exchange for some company and warmth and a warm soup if it happened to be near tea time... Always thanked us and blessed on her way out with her loud and umpretentious voice and said "now I've got to go to a cold house to get the fire going and start all over to look after my mob" (Being at the time the only female member of the family) (Before Stratos and Nikos got married) She never liked her nephews' "modern ways" but she loved and cared for them nonetheless. God rest her soul .
