George Kalligeros, proprietor of Kapsali Restaurant, and a lynch pin for Kytheraismos in Brisbane and Queensland, performed at a level above and beyond the call of duty. He relocated his staff to the Cyprus Club (even wife Paula, who was going to relax and enjoy a Kytherian-Queenland event of great magnitude, was seconded to the kitchen, and spent the entire day there). Angelo and Mary Notaras (nee, Kalokerinos), Hellenic and Kytherian benefactors and civic leaders.

On the table in front of them is Hugh Gilchrist's Australians & Greeks, Vol 1-3.

Angelo with brother John, were instrumental in publishing and distributing Vol 1, and helped to print, promote, and distribute Vols 2 & 3.

Gilchrist's work has inspired others to replictae the high standard of research, including Mr Denis Conomos, author of the Greeks in Queensland.

Upon entering the Cyprus Club, Governor of Queensland, Her Excellency, Quentin Bryce, AC, assumed her seat....

Her husband Mr Michael Bryce, AC, (right front, back to photo), assumed his seat, soon thereafter.

Her Excellency sat next to brilliant Queensland-Kytherian, Professor Manuel J Aroney, AM, OBE, throughout the proceedings.

In 70 years of attending Hellenic & Kytherian functions, I have never before witnessed a more effective silence-inducer!
