Kavalini* house, Avlemonas.

In the decades following the unification of Greece in 1864, Kythera once again became the stop-over port of call for Austrian ships from Trieste, using Avlemona during winter, and Kapsali during the summer months.

Windmill at Livathi.

The European Union must be congratulated on their efforts to restore architectural heritage sites of deep significance such as this one.

Their grants have been invaluable in restoring the Kytherian "klirenomia".

[In case you think that this photograph is impossible to "take" without having a whole lot of power lines in the way....you are absolutely correct.
The power lines have been digitally removed.
Which beggars the question - why not "actually" remove ...
