this helihopter landed next to the BP service station outside potamo,to refuel ,they were flying over certain greek islands to find the best beaches to sail tourists to these beaches, but as you do , you eventually need fuel, so why not just land next to the first servo you can find and re fuel!!! and also go over to gikas supermarket and do some shopping!!!!
the vrissi at galani between potamos and agia pelagia, where you can get some lovely spring water, with a great view of rugged mountains and the sea,also a chat with the other people who stop in their hundreds during the day to have a drink or stock up on their water supplies for home

this house survived the onslaught of the fires , this was near the village of viaradika, but constant fire fighting and water bombings prevented any major damage.....
fighting the recent fires in kythera, these locals from Mitata use what ever they can to stop the fires reaching the village... it was three days of heartache for the whole island....

This solid stone church, just a few kms north of Mitata, survived the fires and will hopefully survive a few hundred more years - at least.
A few KMs north of Mitata, this small church was once barely visible behind the growth of bushes and vines. It's surroundings are now completely burnt out.
How many years will it take before the hundreds of cypress trees are green again?
