a glourious sunset at AGIOS GEORGIOS with briliant views of the east coast of the island , the church is one of the oldest churches on the island ... go up to the church late afternoon in august watch the beautiful sunset ..a perfect end to another great summers day on the island ...

what a sight, a full moon over kythera in summer , its so beautiful , the whole island is lite with a bright white light .. here the villages of kastrisianika, friligianka and aloizianika are a blaze with the magic of a the summer moon light , and keeping a eye on things is Agia Moni high up in the mountains ..

just west of logothetianika and a drive down a steep winding road is one of the islands most popular beaches, during august and on a still hot day this beach is packed with holiday makers from athens to australia.. maybe a nice swim till lunch time then back up the mountain to a great lunch at marias in the village of logothetianika... bring on the greek summer and being in kythera during august ...

endless water bombing of the fires of kythrea in august 2010
geat skills by these pilots during the island fires of august 2010,this is near agia moni , church can be seen on the mountain top, for 10 days these planes worked constantly and eventually helped put out all fires that were raging on kythera which they saved a lot of homes a few villages from being burnt ...
