I believe this is a very early photograph of my great-grandfather, Seraphim Phocas, father-in-law of John D Comino. Taken in either Rhodes or, more likely, Alexandria.

The two oldest sons of John D Comino, Dimitri and Naso (my father) in Greek costume, Sydney, circa 1907. The tinting is likely to have been carried out by my grandmother, Anna Comino.
Dimitri Comino aged 2 years, 2 months, Randwick, NSW. Dimitri was the oldest son of John D Comino and later became a notable industrialist in England, founding the company Dexion.

The publication of Life in Australia (2009 edition), has sparked interest in the first Greek Consul to Australia. (See Consul photographs on pages 81 & 82 pf the book. In this photo is Marietta Logothetis and her three children Despina (left), Aristoteles (middle) who died as a baby from pneumonia, and Leonidas (right). Marietta was the only child of Minas and Katerina Logothetis of Logothetianika. Marietta was orphaned at 13 or 14 years of age. The Kiosk at East Ballina was a favourite place for Greeks to congregate. In this photo are my Aunty Botta Poulos(left) and a rare photo of my mother Frosso Poulos (2nd from right).

This is my mother Frosso Poulos(nee Mentis) wedding day in Lismore, 1949. At her side is her Uncle Angelo. Behind are her husbnd's brother George and his wife Botta.
My father, Peter Poulos was in the Australian Army, working as a cook, during WWII. This is a photo of him taken during his time of service.
