Children's author and UQ Ipswich graduate Toni Risson will soon publish a book based on studies of migrants in Ipswich called Aphrodite and the Mixed Grill.

Amongst the Kytherian Pioneers in Australia were the Psaltis Family from Kythera and the Black, (Mavrokefalos) from Ithaca. Nick Psaltis with his brother John migrated at an early age and established themselves in Australia. Nick married Louisa Krithary, that unforgettable lady who was so loved and respected from the community at large.

Archie Kalokerinos. A towering figure in Bingara for 10 years

Inside the magnificent Roxy Theatre.

He was recognised by many former patients when he visited the town on 16th April 2007.

Archie Kalokerinos, the doctor in Bingara for 10 years,

stands outside the shop where he practised medicine.

It now is part of the magnificently restored Roxy Theatre.

Theo is from the village of Trifillianika, and his parachoukli is Drizos.

Diane Trifyllis (nee Stathis), derives from Karvounathes.

Both live in Brisbane.

Jim is the Honorary Consul for Greece in Queensland, and Managing Director of the highly successful property development Corporation, Raptis Group Ltd. Angelo is a Director of Atom Industries, and a benefactor for many Hellenic & Kytherian causes.

Loula Zantiotis.

Loula ends 50-year link with the Busy Bee Cafe.

It was the end of an era in Gunnedah at the weekend when Loula Zantiotis, the last of the old-style Greek cafe owners, called it a day at the Busy Bee Cafe.

At 12.06 pm on Sunday, 30th September, sur­rounded by her family, Loula Zantiotis slipped a new padlock on the door saying “yassou - and thanks for the memories.”

"...it's three generations ago...three...that my great-grandfather was the priest at Mitata's Ayia Triatha, not two...."
