Cousin Areanthe Mottee Gavrilis passes away

Picture taken of my 1st Cousins visiting in Australia with Con and Areanthe a few years ago.
L to R Pauline Gavrilys(Gavrilis) Coffeville ,Kansas, Her Brother James Theodore Gavrilys(Gavrilis)Chicago ,Illinois, Areanthe Mottee Gavrilis, husband and 1st Cousin Con Peter Gavrilis.

Family of Peter George (Tzortzo)Poulos.

Warren, New South Wales.

In 1928, as a 14 year old, Peter George Poulos, migrated to Australia.

He went to live and work with his brother Dimitri George (Tzortzo)Poulos, who had arrived in Australia in 1922, and was established in the town of Goulburn, NSW.

Theo Corones Belos, Karavas. In later life.

Theothosios Koroneos - Theo Corones - was sponsored to Australia, as a youth, by his maternal uncle George, and aunty Georgia, later of Beverley Hills.

He lost a leg to an infection in his early twenties.

Part of his rehabilitation involved art therapy. He later became quite a famous artist in "Kytherian" circles.

He settled in Sydney, and drove cabs for many decades, before attempting later in life to re-establish himself in Karavas, Kythera.

Envangelia Triunduphilou Koroneos, Angie Koroneos, was born on the 23rd of April, 1928 in Karavas.

Her parents were Triunduphilo Theothosios Koroneos, Belos, and Georgia Mentis, i Menti.

This is a portrait of my mother Maria (Mary) Condon nee Combes/Coombes, taken in 1948.

Maria (Mary) is the youngest of 3 children born to Anastasios (Ernest) and Spiridoula (Lily) Combes/Coombes. Maria (Mary) was born in Darlinghurst, Sydney. She married Ronald John Condon in 1957. They had 4 daughters.

George Coombes, in 1940.

This is my uncle, George Combes/Coombes. This photo was taken in 1940 when he was 16 years old. George was born in Tenterfield, New South Wales, the eldest of 3 children to Anastasios (Ernest) and Spiridoula (Lily) Combes/Coombes.

George later joined the Royal Australian Air Force in January 1943 until November, 1946. He was a Leading Aircraftman in the 78th Squadron.

He is my mother's brother. My mother is Maria (Mary) Condon nee Combes/Coombes.
