Dear Fellow Kytherians, My husband and I are finally taking our dream vacation to Greece. We will visit Kythera one full day while on a Variety Cruise on Tuesday, Sept 27, and then we'll return on our own Friday, Sept 30- Sun. Oct 2. My grandfather, Spyridon George Stratigos, was born in Melopotamos in 1886, He and his brother John moved to the US while teens. My husband keeps geneological records for our families and is interested in additional research while we are there. We would love to meet a fellow STRATIGOS, but are also interested in general information about the island. If you have any leads, suggestions or advice, or are willing to chat for a bit while we are there, we'd love to hear from you. Thanks, Diana Stratigos Garvey Hudson, OH USA
My great Grandfather Nickolas Kavazos emigrated to Australia in the early 1900's too. We have some letters and photos to and from his parents Demitrios and Kaliope. Would love to get in contact with any distant family either in Australia or abroad!

Wanting to know about my family history. My Grandfather came to Australia when he was 14/15.
Hi . I was so excited to see a photo of the Canberra Cafe Oxford St Sydney.. My grandmother was a breakfast cook there way back in the 1940's. She loved working there.. many fond memories. Thank you posting the photo.
A simple thank you seems inadequate for having made this web-site available around the world. My father (and sister 1928) were born in Fratsia. Grandfather was a priest--Kosmas Leontarakis-aka patir skounaki. We have kinship with Cassimatis, Trakadas family and distantly related with the Marentis family. Still actively researching my grandmother...Kalliope Petroheliou also from Fratsia. I agree with the entry from R. Tzannes. Stated quite nicelY! Thank you!

We couldn't be more remote in our origins. But my wife and I recently spent several delightful weeks in Kythera and with Kytherians in Peiraeus and can easily understand why people from the island never let go, even after decades and generations in another continent. If such a being as an "honorary Kytherian" is permotted, we would be honoured to be included.
